Back in the day, the target was static. If you aimed properly and had decent hand-eye coordination you hit the bull’s eye.
So far, “innovation” is about tracking the individual pieces, in motion. Venture money, media, and companies like Google and Facebook believe technology can figure out what individuals aspire to, based on where they are moving and the information they leave behind. Many are competing to mine and analyze data. But the results aren't dramatically better than traditional media.
Individuals may not fit into one homogeneous profile. But they seek to find clusters of others who share their interests, have knowledge to learn from, and facilitate realizing aspirations. What if everyone could see where they are, who can help them get where they aspire to go, and enjoy the camaraderie of each other? Comradity thinks this is how technology can unlock the possibility for both culture and commerce to flourish.
